Weight loss update…

Well hell. The last time I updated was a fitness Friday on July 26! Well, I’ve been up and down a whole bunch since then – both weight and running wise. I guess I just needed some time off ’cause now I feel more committed than I have in a while.

So today – Monday October 14 – I weighed 4 pounds more than July 26. So not great BUT I’m still down 27 pounds since May 1.

Which means I would like to lose 20 by the end of the year and there are only 10 weeks to do it in. So, 2 pounds a week. Now that Thanksgiving is behind us there’s nothing major coming up until a weekend in Chicago in December and then Christmas so it’s certainly doable although definitely not easily as history has shown.

I’ll update my running this week too.

Fitness Friday (July 26/13) – three months in

Yea, I’m still calling it fitness Friday although it’s not getting posted until Sunday. That’s what happens when I need to do all the pictures and everything else!

Weight loss from last week to Friday July 26: 2 pounds (not too bad seeing as Toby’s birthday dinner was last weekend!)

Total weight loss from May 1 to July 26 = 31 pounds. Yippie!

Inches lost May 1 to July 26 = waist: 4     hips: 5     chest: 3 3/4

So here’s my start picture:

And here’s a comparison from the end of May and today – I remembered to wear the same shirt this time!

The weather has been great for running this week. I was getting upset because I never seem to fit in going to the gym or spinning right now. BUT I really want to do well at the half on September 28 so I am just going to focus on that. And it turns out that my laser eye surgery is scheduled for the week after that. So I’ll be forced to not run for a week or so. Seems like a good time then to get some no-impact exercising in.

Then I have the two halfs in Dallas at New Years (yea, I am a little crazy that way). THEN I will go into “maintenance” for running – keeping it to 3 days a week maybe? and add in spinning, weights and maybe swimming too! All that to say I’m going try and not feel guilty for having running take centre stage right now.

Fitness Friday (July 19/13) – Nero fiddles…

July started so well and then went so downhill! For the first time since this whole thing started (which was really only back on May 1) I’ve gained weight this week BUT only because I weigh myself both Mondays and Fridays. I’m actually down ½ a pound from last Friday and up 2 pounds since Monday. Weird

I’m going to chalk it all up to the insane heat and humidity Toronto’s gotten this week (and my corresponding lack of exercise and uhm over-drinking) and I’m actually just going to turn off thinking about it for today and tomorrow. It seems if I dwell on it too much I just get a headache so I’m going to use this time as a scheduled downtown and will restart on Sunday.

Today’s title seems fitting if only because of the heat but Wikipedia tells me that on July 19, 64 Rome started to burn.

Fitness Friday (July 12/13) – the US are coming…

It’s been a week. Sigh. I fell out of tracking and exercising got pushed aside for play time with Q and, well, just resting and being lazy.

And yet somehow I’m down 1.5 pounds for a total of 27 pounds. Or a little over 12 kg. Not too shabby overall but it hit me today that I’d be doing a lot better if I applied myself.

Applying myself eh? Lately I’ve been coasting in a lot of things. Gotta figure out what I want to do and why and how. Prioritize.

Jeez, sound all very meta there. Oh well. Like I said it’s been a week. And thankfully there will be another one starting soon 😀

Oh and Toby’s big meal experiment of the week was Indian food – he made paneer! Saag paneer, beef rogan gosh and gobi gobi (cabbage and cauliflower – the cauliflower was good; cabbage is still really only good when it is encasing ground meats and rice).

And the title? On July 12, 1812 US Brigadier General Hull crossed the Detroit River and thus began the first US invasion in the War of 1812.

Fitness Friday (July 5/13) – happy birthday to the bikini

Seriously – look it up. The bikini turns 67 today. I have no desire to wear a bikini.

Down two more pounds this week. So I’ve cracked 25 pounds lost (25.5 to be more precise. Or 11.5 kg if you’re more metrically inclined) I’ve also had to pack up some clothes that are ridiculously big on me. And I’m too cheap to buy clothes now so instead I am going to go buy a belt. Yes, I am that fashion-blind I only own a couple of belts suitable for wearing with jeans; nothing at all to go with work clothes or dressier stuff. Any advice? I think I’ll just head to The Bay and see what they got.

Toby made a keto-friendly meatloaf this week. AND keto-friendly pulled pork. Both were pretty yummy. We’ll take lots of pics when he does the pulled pork next time and do a post about it.

What’s especially cool though is that I’m down two pounds despite the awesome family get-together at my aunts place and the TFC game:

Canada FlagHappy (belated) birthday Canada! (considerably older than the bikini)
